RUTH CARMICHAEL ELLINGER

Founder/President 2000-2011 of Brandon Christian Writers; Co-Director Florida Inspirational Writers Retreat

Ruth was born and raised in the Ohio Valley; setting for her historical and inspirational Wildrose trilogy. Her current release is Women of the Secret Place, a collection of inspirational stories written with 12 guest contributors. In 2000, Ruth founded Brandon Christian Writers and presided over the writing group until 2011. She also Co-Directs, Florida Inspirational Writers Retreat.

Ruth is twice a recipient of American Christian Writers, “Writer of the Year” award (2006, 2008) and 2010 Brandon Arts Council Award, “Artist of the Year” for Excellence in the Arts. A member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, her essay, “Bells of Freedom,” won first place for Ohio’s DAR. Ruth is also a member of two Scottish Clans, Carmichael and Davidson.

Ruth and her pastor/husband, Wright, live in Florida and spend time at their summer home, Wildrose Cottage, an 1882 restored historical cottage in Ohio. Wright and Ruth have four grown children.

Ruth’s blog, The Shepherdess Speaks, includes memoirs of her years in ministry from the Arizona desert to the mountains of British Columbia and missionary endeavors in Central America’s tropical banana plantations.
